Everyone I know loves to pinch pennies. Maybe in this economy, you've started, too?
I think it started during WWI in the family and has just kept on going! If you're a 'penny-pincher', then you will really appreciate this recipe because it uses regular flour instead of that expensive bread machine flour! What you save on the cost of flour could help you buy the ingredients for the delicious chicken salad (below)...
Sweet Dough (2 lbs.) for the Bread Machine
Add in order into your bread machine, then bake or make dough as you desire. (Accuracy counts with this recipe.)
1/2 cup warm water at 110 degrees Fahrenheit
1/2 cup warm milk at 110 degrees Fahrenheit
1 egg, beaten
1/3 cup butter, melted
3 3/4 cup all purpose flour (substitute 3/4 cup of the flour for dried potato flakes if you wish)
1/3 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
2 1/2 tsp. bread machine yeast
My darling daughter (DD) Katie is seventeen and worked in a coffee shop that made delicious chicken salad! It's so easy since it uses only four ingredients, but is especially delectable aside a slice of ripe cantaloupe. Very impressive for company; tasty, yet effortless. Perfect to spread on one of the buns or a slice of the bread from the Sweet Dough recipe above, too! We buy up six packs of canned chicken at Sam's Club because we eat this often.
Red Roaster Chicken Salad
1 can of chicken, drained
1/2 cup mayo
1/8 cup crushed nuts (not too salty)
1/4 cup golden raisins
Mix & enjoy!
That sounds yummy:) We buy that chicken too, that is when we run out of the chicken I can myself! I will have to share my chicken salad recipe one of these days.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, I just posted the tute you requested!

This is good, think I need to buy a bread machine already so that I can make my own bread.
