It sure pays off to share the fruit from the apple tree growing in your own backyard! DuWayne and Nancy Jacques popped in for a visit to return the apple tub and Nancy left this great recipe in the bottom to share!
Apples - peeled and sliced - same amount as for pie (about 8 medium)
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
3-4 Tablespoons flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Stir 'til apples are well coated, then put in oblong pan
Crumble Mixture
2 cups flour
2 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 cups oatmeal
1 cup melted butter or margarine
dash of cinnamon
spread crumble mixture over apples
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 40 minutes or until apples are soft
I have this recipe. I love it! My mom make it for us when I was growing up. I made it for my sons, too.
ReplyDeletesounds yummy!
ReplyDeleteThe crumble on top is so good, that I thought of making this as a pie with a bottom crust only, apples in the middle and the crumble on the top. The best thing about apple crisp, though, is that you can eat it warm out of the oven and you have to wait for pie to cool (if you can!).
ReplyDeleteApple Crisp, yum! Making it as a pie sounds good too!
